Can Trailer Tires Be Used on Front of Farm Tractor

Question:

I have an old Ford 4500 industrial tractor with a bucket and a backhoe on it. I had read an answer that one of your people had given to someone about trailer tires as apposed to others for heavier loads, because of the side walls were beefier than other radials. Would the trailer tire work on my tractor? I dont farm with it. I just use it for the bucket work around my place. What do you think? Thanks.

According to my research, it is acceptable to use trailer tires on the front wheels of a tractor for the use you described.

The # AM10248 tire in ST235/80R16 fits best on a 6, 6-1/2, 7 or 7-1/2 inch wide wheel. The tire has an E load rating, which carries a 3,197 lb capacity per tire, or 6394 lb per axle.
