Where Does Yakima Timberline Roof Rack Install on Raised Rails of 2021 Kia Sorento
Question:
I have purchased the Yakima Timberline Roof Rack System I have the 2022 Kia Sorento X-Line with raised Rails. The question is where to position the Crossbars. For example how far back from the windshield to centerline of first bar. From what I have read, it is recommended 27 inched center to center from there to rear bar. So I just need to know where to position the leading / forward bar. Any help is greatly appreciated

The great thing about installing a roof rack on a vehicle like your 2021 Kia Sorento with raised rails like with the Yakima roof rack part # Y00425 and # Y000147 is that you can position the bars on the raised rails wherever works best for your roof accessories. Unlike naked roof rack installs where there's only one part of the roof that can handle the weight of the roof rack the raised rail racks offer great flexibility.
Further rearward typically helps with wind noise and forward hatch clearance.
