Is The 4 On 9.44 Bolt Pattern Available On Hub and Drum?
Question:
I have an older dexter 8-147 axle from like a 70s trailer. it has a 4 bolt on wheel pattern. need a new hub assembly but all i see on your site is a replacement style with 5 bolt wheels do you offer the original style hubs for this application.

We do have hubs with the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern, but as the 4 on 9.44 bolt pattern is no longer used or produced, these will not be a direct replacement. The 8-147 spindle and hub used a combination of bearings that isn't used anymore, so the spindles or axle will need to be replaced to change over to this bolt pattern, unfortunately. You may be able to find some new/old stock somewhere, but these haven't been made for quite some time now and it will be difficult to find. Swapping to the more common 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern will be better in the long run, but again, will require the replacement of the spindles or axle.
The Dexter Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # 35545E-ST-89 may be a good option as it includes everything, but you will need to measure from hub face to hub face as well as from the center of one spring seat to the center of the other to make sure it will fit. The hub face measurement for this will be 89 inches and the spring seat measurement will be 74 inches.
