Recommended Flat Tow Wiring and Brake System For a 2021 Jeep Gladiator

Question:

What wiring kit do your recommend that I use to control the tail lights on my 2021 Jeep Gladiator. I already have tow bars that will connect to my front bumper. Just need the lights at this point to be able to tow it.

The correct wiring kit will depend on if your 2021 Jeep Gladiator has ParkSense proximity sensors. If you have these sensors you will need the Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights # RM38FR. If you do not have the sensors the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 is the kit you will need. Both kits include a flexible 7-way to 6-way cable, the vehicle side connector and wiring necessary to install the diodes that protect the wiring on your Jeep.

You will want the 6-way plug so that you can add a Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to maintain your Jeep's battery while you are towing. While the Jeep's battery will not drain during towing you will need a braking system that does drain your battery. The braking system is required in most states due to the weight of the Jeep. Be sure to check your states laws and any states that you intend to travel if you don't want to install this type of braking system.

I recommend either the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 for motorhomes with hydraulic brakes or the Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # SM99243 if your motorhome has air brakes. Both of these kits will require the braking system to be mounted on your Jeep but it will make connecting and disconnecting much easier as you will not have to mess with putting in a portable braking system every time you connect the Jeep.
