Cooling Fan on the Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center, PD4135

Question:

When charging the 12 volt lithium battery bank 2 x 100 ah, the heat sink seems excessively hot after a short period of time so the cooling fan seems to run after only charging for 10 minutes or so. Is this normal for the smart charging system? Also, I have the +12vDC side of the converter/charger side wired to a distribution panel located after the battery shut off switch where the battery bank also is connected. Should I wire the converter directly into the battery bank and bypass the distribution panel?

If you are under load to charge a battery bank it is not unusual for the cooling fan on your Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center, # PD4135K to be running. Your converter has up to a 35 amp output for DC charging. It is important that you have plenty of circulation available.

Without seeing a wiring schematic it is challenging for me to identify if your installation is acceptable. The manufacturers installation instructions do state to connect the Battery POS lead to the F1 lead.
