Troubleshooting Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit # 119178KIT
Question:
Successfully installed the receiver without issue. The wiring harness more problematic. I have it hooked into the following: Running lights Left turn signal Brakes.... Test successfully when using the probe to the four pin adapter. Does not work when I plug into the trailer..... am I missing something? Did I get the right harness kit? Thanks!

Yes, the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit w/ 4-Pole Connector and Circuit Tester
# 119178KIT is the correct wiring harness for your 2013 Toyota Faris.
Since everything tested good at the 4-pin adapter, it sounds like the issue is on the trailer itself. I suggest checking all your ground connections to make sure one hasn't disconnected or become corroded. A bad ground can cause any number of weird things to happen, and this definitely sounds like what is going on. You will need to make sure everything is grounded to bare metal that is not aluminum. Each light should also have its own dedicated ground as well, especially if they are LED lights.
If that doesn't correct your issue let me know and we can check something else. I have linked our Wiring FAQ page for you to see.
