Are Curt A20 And Curt Q20 Heads Interchangeable
Question:
Will the A20 fit the Q20 legs? I ordered the RAM Mopar 20K 5th wheel hitch and it came as a Q20 which you say is not compatible with a rotating pin box. I am picking up a 5th wheel with a Turning Point rotating pin box from a dealer and need the correct hitch.

The Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # C16044 and Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # C16530-16021 both use the same 16201 legs so you could definitely swap them out. You are correct that the Q20 is not compatible with rotating pin boxes like the Lippert Turning Point on your new trailer. However, the current A-Series hitches are also not compatible with rotating pin boxes.
Instead, you'll want something like the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package - Slide Bar Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C16515-16021. You'll also need Sidewinder Wedge # C16991 to keep the king pin from rotating inside the hitch head.
