How To Hook Up Tekonsha Prodigy P3 To 2015 Ram 3500 with Factory Brake Controller

Question:

I just purchased a 2015 Dodge ram 3500. When I plugged into my trailer I have electric over hydralic and the brake control is set correctly. The brake actuator on the trailer is pulsing while plugged in. Its not affecting the brakes themselves and after a test ride the brakes worked normally. My question is can I temporarily disconnect the factory ITBM and hook up a prodigy P3 to see if it stops the pulsing? I understand that I will get a warning light and I have to bring to dealer to have sales code removed ect. Just looking trouble shoot if it is the factory itbm

In order to hook up a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 on a 2015 Ram 3500 you'll need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3024-P. It should work as soon as you plug it in but we have not tested this extensively. You'd have to take it to the dealer to clear any error codes for models equipped with factory trailer brake controllers.
