Will the Sportrack Horizon Fit My 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon?
Question:
When I put in my vehicle, a 2005 subaru outback wagon, may choicces come up ...does this mean it wont interfere with the luggage door ? specifically I am looking for the longest possible box that will not interfere with the hatch. I am using the OEM crossbars. Do you have the measurements needed in your database ?

When putting in your vehicle into the fitguide for your 2005 Subaru Outback, the Sportrack Horizon # SR7011 will not necessarily fit because cargo carriers depend on a few different variables. For example, when determining whether if it will interfere with the luggage door, you need to measure from the center of your front OEM crossbar to the line where the roof and the hatch meet. If that measurement is at least 52-1/2 inches, then you will be able to install the Horizon and fully open the rear hatch. I went ahead and attached a diagram that visually shows that measurement. As far as the ability to clamp to your OEM crossbars, the Horizon will fit. Also, as long as there is a distance of at least 23-5/8 inches, your setup will work.
For the possibility of longer boxes that will fit your 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon while still being able to open the rear hatch, there really is no way to confirm unless we have the distance from the center of the front crossbar to the line where the roof and hatch meet. If you provide me that distance, I would be happy to confirm if we have longer boxes available for you.
