Troubleshooting Front Hydraulic Jack Lowering Slowly By Itself

Question:

The front jacks leak down very slowly over the course of a few days. The left side more than the other is this due to a check valve or a jack problem? If it is either which valve would I use to replace it or which jack? Is there a kit to rebuild the jacks available? The front jacks are much larger than the other four rear jacks. I think that they are 14000 pound ones.

It sounds like you have a hydraulic leak somewhere or that you have a bad seal. Since it's only for your front jack legs what you'll need to do is check the hydraulic line for those legs and also check the seals for your system. You should be able to see fluid on the lines or connection points if it's leaking, and a bad seal will prevent the system from holding pressure.

It's possible that the front jacks are damaged but I find that unlikely since both jacks are doing it and it sounds like they might be doing it in tandem. We do have some replacement parts for a hydraulic system that I'm linking for you to check out, but these are more for a whole replacement jack and you'll want to make sure that it is a direct replacement and you aren't mixing and matching parts.
