What Faceplate And Rocker Switch Do You Recommend To Replace My Dimmer Switch

Question:

I would like to replace the dimmer shown below with a rocker type switch. The existing hole dimensions are approximately 1.750inch x 2.0. It looks like your faceplate #37214045 would cover the hole. What switch would work with this faceplate and how is it mounted - to the faceplate or to the wall?

The IP66/206 Single RV Switch Faceplate - Black, part # 37214045, will work with any IP66/206 series switches. We have a number of IP66 switches that will work with this faceplate. The switch you linked to this question, RV Switch - On/On - SPDT - Black, is not compatible with this faceplate. However, I do have some RV switches that are compatible with this faceplate, My recommendation is the Single Rocker Switch - On/Off/On - Water Resistant - SPDT - Black. part # 37213835. You will need a multimeter for the installation of the switch. I am partial to the 3-Piece Electrician Tool Set, part # PTW1714, because it comes with a wire cutter and a wire stripper. The dimmer switch has four terminals and your replacement switch will only have three terminals. The multimeter will be used to check the voltage on the wires. I cannot see the number of terminals you have on the back of your existing switch, but I think it is three. So you will wire your new switch the same way your existing switch is wired. The rocker switch clips into the faceplate which is attached to the wall via screws. The screws are not included with the faceplate.

I have included a product description links, video review links, and a web link to our selection of IP66 series switches below.
