Will the Carpod Enclosed Cargo Carrier Clear the Bumper on a 2012 GMC Acadia

Question:

Will the M2205 fit a 2012 GMC Acadia? The question is will the rise rub against the bumper? I have 5from the center of the receiver pin hole to the most outer part of the bumper. Im afraid the angle of the rise will hit/rub at some point on the bumper.

The shank on the Carpod, # M2205-01-02 would most likely interfere with the bumper on your Acadia. It does not come out far enough before reaching the portion of the shank that rises. Instead, I recommend the GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Slide Out - 17 cu ft - Black # H00604. It has a straight shank that measures 14 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier.

You also get the benefit of an enclosed carrier rather than the cage type of the Carpod. Plus, the sliding feature of the # H00604 allows you to access the rear of your Acadia . I have included a link to a video review of this carrier and a link to the instructions.
