Can Rooftop Tent be Installed on Swagman Roamer LT Roof Rack

Is the 150lb limit for dynamic or static loads? Could I put a rooftop tent on this rack?

The 150 lb load limit is the dynamic rating for the Swagman Roamer LT Roof Rack # S80510.

In regards to whether or not a rooftop tent can be safely used, that essentially depends on the rooftop manufacturer. For example, both the Yakima SkyRise HD # Y07436 and the Thule Tepui Ruggedized Kukenam # TH8001KXL05 have a requirement that the roof rack be rated for 165 lbs so the 150 lb rating wouldn't suffice for these. There are a variety of other rooftop tents out there though so something might work with that lower weight rating.

An alternative solution would be something like the Rhino-Rack Track Mount Roof Rack # Y02-480B which has a 209 lb dynamic weight rating. Just be sure that the trailer/camper shell is rated for the amount of weight of the rooftop tent AND any people/cargo that will be in the tent.
