How Much Clearance Around Slide Topper Does Install of Solera Slide Topper Require

Question:

My 2016 Rockwood 3029W living area slide measures 115 inches but has a very small area to attach the extension bracket due to having an awning mounted already on the wall. My question relates to one that has been asked already but Id like to know if using the replacement hardware, would the fabric clear the slide trim top per the attached picture. Also, I will no doubt have to trim down the bracket due to the small area given to work with. The picture with red cardboard in it is a template I cut using the size of the newer base bracket which is allegedly 7 11/16 inches wide and 2 inches tall. All this based on using LCV000251461 topper and replacing the attaching hardware at extra cost. The third photo shows how close the main awning hardware is to the slide at 6 1/2 inches. I have two more slides with no incumbrances Ill worry about if I can make this work. Im 74 years old nursing a fresh hip replacement and recent widower so this is my get away rig and would like to make it comfortable. Thanks for you kind assistance as Ive seen before. I want to have as much angle for drainage as possible so will be mounting the fabric as high on the wall as I can after removing the present rain gutter above the slide.

When installing a slide topper like the part # LC2724412 that you referenced you only need 3 inches of clearance above the slide out flange for the rail and hardware to fit and clear and function. Since you have 6-1/2 inches this would work just fine and not require you to use a different bracket.
