The Curt Gooseneck Hitch # C60642 you were looking at for your 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 is designed so that the gooseneck ball is pretty much directly over the rear axle. This best allows the hitch weight of the trailer to be evenly distributed across the rear suspension giving you the best support.

While installing the gooseneck hitch in your truck I recommend installing a 7-way connector in the bed using # C56070. This connector plugs in in-line of your factory 7-way and easy allows you to hook up your trailer.
