My Thule representative didn't have any information about the OEM expedition rack on your Land Rover Defender. The rack is manufactured by Thule Europe, and unfortunately Thule USA doesn't have any concrete info about the expedition rack used on your vehicle.

The good news is that I CAN tell you what size crossbars the Thule # TH629806 Motion XT cargo box will fit, so a quick look and measurement at the crossbars will immediately tell you if the box will work with it.

The Thule # TH629806 Motion XT roof cargo box fits crossbars up to 3-1/2 inches in width by 1-11/16 inches tall. If the crossbars fall within those parameters and can be adjusted so their center to center spacing (known as the bar spread) is between 23-5/8 and 36-7/8 inches apart, the Thule Motion XT roof cargo box would work perfectly for you.

To make accessing the cargo box easier, you might also be interested in a door step like the # RL100660 which installs into the door strikers. The door step would provide a sturdy, safe way to give you a boost up so you can easily access your roof mounted accessories.
