How To Install Trailer Wiring Harness On a 2006 BMW X5

Your description of the wiring hook-up for the left tail light baffles me because there are no colors mentioned. The discrepancy is that Im at my computer and the car is in the garage. I have 4 wires in the plug, 1 is tan, 1 is green and 2 are double colored. What is the function of each? Please

In regard to the universal wiring kits like the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT, specific wire colors are not provided as these kits can be used on any vehicle. We don't have access to vehicle wiring diagrams so the best advice we have for installation is to test the wires for function using the included circuit tester. In other words, have someone activate each of the signals while you probe the wires behind the tail lights with a circuit tester. We have plenty of videos on the page for this kit which will show you the process. I have attached one below on a similar model year.
There are no plug-in play kits for a 2006 BMW X5 at this time.
