Troubleshooting Lippert Electric RV Stabilizers That Won't Work But Motor Is Running

Question:

i can hear the electric stabilizer motor running but it is not engaging , almost like it is slipping. Not sure about the mechanics of the stabilizer itself so not sure what to look at. it was working then it was not. what if motor is not the issue, what do i need to check

If you can hear the motor turning I would start by removing the Motor # LC352338 from the Stabilizer Jack # LC298707. This will allow you to check and see if the motor shaft is damaged or turning.

You can also use the Manual Crank Handle # LC119226 to attempt to lower and raise the stabilizing legs to determine if there is something wrong with the mechanical portion of the stabilizers.

If you find that the problem is with the Motor # LC352338 it can be replaced. If there is a problem with the gears and screw inside the stabilizer it must be replaced as an entire unit. Lippert does not have any replacement parts available for those parts.
