Thule TracRac SR Base Rails For 2020 Chevy Silverado With 6-1/2 Foot Bed

Question:

I just purchased part 21781 base rails for my 2020 Silverado for a 6 1/2’ bed. Are these the proper rails for my truck? If they are, what is the best way to mount them while having a tonneau cover? My truck tapers inward and the bed is wider by the cab. If I push the rails inward into the tonneau I won’t be able to use them. Any other suggestions?

Thank you for the purchase and yes, the correct base rails for your 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 6-1/2 foot bed are indeed the Base Rails for Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Racks # TH21781.

They can only be mounted if the bed rails of your Chevy Silverado are not covered, so if any part of the tonneau is on top of the bed rails, the TracRac rails won't fit. So your tonneau cover would need to be entirely inside the rails, something like the BAK Revolver X4s Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK72VR.

There isn't an alternative installation method or way around this for tonneau covers that are on top of the bed rails, even if they are only slightly on top.
