Can the Rhino Rack RTC Tracks Be Mounted to the Bed Rails on a 2020 Ram 1500

Question:

I’d like to mount the Rhino Rack Y02-480B track rails on Ram Truck bed rails which measure 65.5” center to center. My question is what is the minimum cross bar width that I can use with this dimension? I’m hoping to be able to get away using 65” cross bars assuming that the mounting feet offset inward a bit and end caps add a bit as well. If this won’t work can you put a package price together with the 71” crossbars? Thanks

The Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - RTC and RT Roof Rack Tracks - Qty 4 # RRRLT600 will sit pretty much completely upright and will not really curve in towards the center of the bed, so I do suggest going with longer bars. The Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA180B-2 will measure 71 inches long and will be a much better option. Both of these paired with the Rhino-Rack RTC-Style Roof Rack Tracks - Channel Mount - 63" Long - Qty 2 # RTC16 will complete the set up and get you on your way.

However, it should be noted that the # RTC16 tracks are typically used on a shell and will require drilling to get installed. As you want to put this on the bed rails of your Ram, you will also need to drill into said rails to get it installed. I do admit that it is a good idea though and had not thought of doing something like this before.
