We don't have an ability to find out what tire your trailer should have on it but it's not uncommon for trailer tires to get pretty warm after being on the highway for sometime as there's quite a bit of friction created.

One thing to keep in mind though is you need to keep your trailer tire inflated to it's max psi rating that is listed on the sidewall as lower pressures will create excess heat. Also be sure to stay under the speed rating of the tire too. That would be listed on the sidewall as well but in a lot of cases this figure is 65 mph.

For a higher weight and speed rated tire in the size you have of ST175/80R13 the part # AM10210 would be a great option as it has a weight rating of 1,650 lbs at 70 psi and a speed rating of 81 mph.
