How Much Total Bike Weight Can Kuat Transfer V2 Carry
Question:
How Much Total Bike Weight Can Kuat Transfer Carry?

The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # KU74FR is able to carry two bikes that weigh up to 40 lbs each. So the most weight possible to carry with this rack is a total of 80 lbs; please note you wouldn't be able to carry, for example, a 60 lb bike and 20 lb bike.
If you need to carry bikes heavier than 40 lbs you can do so with similar wheel-mounted platform bike racks. For bikes up to 60 lbs each (120 lbs total) there is an option from RockyMounts, with the correct rack depending on your hitch size:
- 2" Hitch: RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # RKY10004
- 1-1/4" Hitch: RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # RKY10003
Both MonoRails are actually about 10 lbs lighter than the Transfer, are compatible with bikes that have tires up to 5" wide compared to 3" for the Transfer, and include both a hitch lock and cable lock while the Transfer only has a cable lock, which is why I do recommend the MonoRail over the Transfer.
