Troubleshooting Tekonsha Voyager Saying 0.0 When Pressing Brake Pedal In 2013 GMC Sierra
Question:
I had this controller installed on my 2013 GMC Sierra when I purchased my camper. I have only used it 3 times since. On this last trip I noticed that when I press the brakes, the display goes from .c, to 0.0. It has probably always done this, but curious if it should display the voltage applied instead. When sliding the manual override and adjusting the dial, it displays a #, they told me to use 12 for 1st few trips, no matter what voltage I set it at, 0.0 when pushing on the brake pedal. Is this normal operation?

I would be happy to help.
Since your Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 says 0.0 when applying the brake pedal on your 2013 GMC Sierra that means you are getting no power sent to your trailer brakes.
Now there are a few causes, and since you mentioned that the manual override works properly then that rules out a faulty controller.
Either the controller is connected to the incorrect stop light switch wire, or the stop light switch on your truck is bad and needs to be replaced.
Trace the wires on the back of the controller and see which vehicle wire the red wire is connected to. It should be connected to a blue wire with a white stripe and should only have power when the brake pedal is pressed.
If the controller is not connected to that wire try to find that wire tucked up under the dash and connect that to the red wire on the controller.
If that is the wire connected to your controller then use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the wire and verify that it gets 12v power only when the brake pedal is pressed.
If you do not get any power on that wire you will need to have the stop light switch replaced as it is defective.
With all of that said I would take the truck back to the place you had the controller installed and have them fix it as they should not have let you leave with a controller that did not function.
I included a video of a similar controller, the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885, being installed in a similar 2012 GMC Sierra.
