Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2007 Four Winns RV Built on a Chevy Express Van Chassis

Question:

I have a 2007 Four Winds 28A RV based on a Chevy Express frame. Can you provide the dimensions of the Curt 13040 and 13701 hitches? Looks like the 13040 would match up with the 6 holes in the frame and clearance under the RV and bumper. But I wanted to make sure. Same for the 13701 and its 4 holes. Please include the down length from the mounting holes to the hitch reciever.

All of the Curt trailer hitches for the 2007 Chevy Express Van exclude RV cutaway models which is what your RV is. At this time we do not have a confirmed fit for the RV cutaway models. You would need to use a hitch like # 13703 that you have referenced. I have included a picture showing the dimensions of the brackets.

This hitch fits box frames, C-channel frames, and I-beam frames 22 to 72 inches wide. It can be bolted or welded on but welding should be done by a qualified professional welder. I have incldued links to the installation instructions and a video showing a typical installation for you.

From the top of the bracket to the top of the receiver tube measures 7-7/8 inches.
