Can Synthetic Rope be Used With Bulldog Winch BDW10042
Question:
I purchased a new trailer and they installed the bulldog 10042 with wire cable. If I choose can I switch to the synthetic rope or is that not possible. Just curious. I was thinking about getting a spare cable but was thinking about switching it to rope. I have bought several products from you and love your service. If not it is no big deal I will just buy the wire rope but though the synthetic might be worth switching if I need to get new.

That's a good question, and yes, you can use synthetic rope instead of the Wire Cable # BDW20109 with your Bulldog Winch Standard Series Off-Road Winch - Wire Rope - Roller Fairlead - 9,500 lbs # BDW10042. This winch is actually the same as the Bulldog Winch # BDW10045, which just comes with synthetic rope instead of wire cable.
All of that is a long way of saying that for your winch, the correct 100 foot synthetic rope and hook for your winch are the following:
- Replacement Synthetic Rope for Bulldog Winch Off-Road Winch # BDW20322
- Replacement 3/8" Sling Hook for Recovery Winches # BDW20274
