What Trailer Hitch and Wiring Do I Need for My 2021 Jeep Wrangler?
Question:
What trailer hitch and trailer wiring do you need for a 2021 Jeep Wrangler?

Expert Reply:
For a trailer hitch that will give you the highest tongue weight capacity (675) and maximum gross trailer weight (4,500 pounds) we carry for your 2021 Jeep Wrangler (all models), I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT78MR. The Draw-Tite comes with a complete hardware kit included for an easy bolt-on installation without drilling. If you need a pin and clip, you will need # PC3.
If your vehicle does not have a factory 4-way, you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118786. The T-One harness will provide you with tail light functions on your trailer. I went ahead and linked a video that shows the installation of the 4-way wiring harness.
If you are looking to add additional functionality to your trailer (such as braking), you will need a 7-way harness. For a universal fit, I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. The harness comes with a 25-foot long, 10-gauge duplex wire that is wrapped in an abrasion-resistant cover. Along with the # ETBC7, the most headache-free controller option is the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180. The Echo has the easiest installation of any of our controllers and it allows you edit your brake settings with your smart phone.
