Why Does Hitch Extender for Class I Hitch Cut Weight Capacity

Why dos it cut capacity in half

Using a hitch adapter with a hitch like the # C11067 does cut the capacity of the hitch in half due to the fact they add length which creates more leverage and movement. The added length puts additional torque on the hitch.
For a Class I hitch extender we have the part # HES0 which is a 10 inch extender.
