Does the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack Fit a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan with a Naked Roof?
Question:
Jon, Thank you for your suggestion but suction attachment is not what I had in mind. I would prefer the removable clamp on type. Is there no universal fit rack that could work? If no manufacturer produces that either, my second choice would be a permanently mounted bolt on style rack with rails for adjustable cross bar spacing.. Does any manufacturer offer that for my Caravan? My Dodge dealer says it can only be added at the factory. I was thinking I could have it installed by an auto body shop. By the way, I would use it for general purposes. Everything from hauling kayaks and canoes, to bikes, luggage, lumber, misc, etc. I've even once used a rack on a previous van to haul a 20' length of 30" diameter culvert. So I'dI like something that's fairly versatile. Thanks,

I do have a way for you to install a roof rack on your 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, but it involves using the SeaSucker # 298-SX6000B vacuum cups as opposed to a traditional-style fit kit system like you are looking at with the Rhino-Rack # DS1375B. The SeaSucker seems a little unconventional but the vacuum cups are definitely sturdy enough to handle the same types of loads and applications that other roof racks are usually used for. Each cup has a pull strength of 210 lbs and 6 of them are used for this setup.
There used to be fits for your vehicle, but the various roof rack manufacturers have updated their systems and as of right now (Sept. 2021) they don't have a fit kit designed for your vehicle.
If you can let me know what you plan on using the roof rack for I can make some additional recommendations and/or let you know of any other ways you can transport your cargo!
I have attached a review video of the SeaSucker system for you to check out as well.
