If you want one bike rack to fit both vehicles (2015 Nissan Rogue and 2017 BMW X1) without hitches then your only option is the SeaSucker Mini Bomber Roof 2 Bike Rack # 298-BM2006. This attaches to the roof and allows for 2 bikes to be installed via the forks. This also comes in a 3-bike version # 298-BB3008.
Your best option is to install a trailer hitch receiver on each vehicle and then find a bike rack that you can swap between each vehicle. For the BMW go with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver 2" # e93KR and for the Nissan go with Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver 2" # 75902.
Now you can install a large variety of 2" accessories such as a cargo carrier or bike rack. For a bike rack I would look at the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack # HR4000. This is a very popular option and would allow you to install up to 4 bikes. The adjustable cradles attach to a large variety of bike frame designs and would work with bikes that have fenders or baskets. I attached several demonstration videos to assist you.
