Can Curt T-Connector C55384 Be Added To 2021 Chevy Silverado To Power Extra Tail Lights On Camper?
Question:
I have a 2021 chevy silverado with the trailer package and integrated brake controller. I have a KZ travel trailer camper to which i added a bike rack and also an extra set of tail lights to the camper bumper so that the lights can be seen when bikes and their cover are on the back of the trailer. I ran the light wiring to the front of the trailer and taped it to the 7 pin connector. On my 2012 chevy truck i had on the back of the truck a Hopkins connector with the 7 pin connector and the 4 pin connector next to the 7 pin connector in place of the factory 7 pin connector similar to your item# C55774so i could plug in the second set of lights and the camper at the Same time. This set up worked great. My new 2021 chevy silverado connector has the 4 pin mounted above the 7 pin. Because of the way the connector covers open toward each other, i can not use both plugs at the same time. Would your item #C55384 T connector allow me to use the auxiliary tail lights and the functions of all the 7 pins to the camper at the same time? as this is anew truck, i would rather not have to change the factory connector. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes the Curt T-Connector # C55384 you were looking at for your new 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will plug in inline of your factory connector and allow you to plug in both your campers 7-way connector and the 4-way connector you are using to power the extra tail lights.
The only thing you will need to be sure of is that the combination of both connectors does not overload the individual circuits of the factory wiring. Due to only adding one extra set of tail lights I highly doubt this is an issue but you will want to check the amp draw of your additional lights and add that to the amp draw of the tail lights on your camper to make sure you stay under the max amp rating of your truck.
I included a video of the # C55384 for you to take a look at.
