Hopkins 56202 Not Working on 1998 Jeep TJ
Question:
The kit is simple to instal as described…plug and play. However when I connect to my RV or truck my turn signals and lights don’t work. I checked my 7 pin receptacle and confirmed it is wired correctly. I tow a boat with my RV and the trailer lights and turn signals work fine. The turn signals and lights work on the Jeep when activated from inside the Jeep. They just won’t work when connected to the RV, I double and triple checked the connectors, they are secure. Any ideas on what the issue could possibly be? Thank you

Thank you for your purchase from etrailer of the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56202. If the signals on your Jeep are not working when connected to your RV you'll want to check a couple things; we know it's on the Jeep side or the harness since your RV works when connected to your boat, so we can narrow it down.
The first thing you will want to do is unplug the harness and take a look at the Jeep's connectors just to make sure none of the pins were somehow damaged. If they're fine, then with the harness connected, use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 and and test the wires both before and after the module to make sure the signals are going through; if they are not getting through after the module then the kit is bad and will need to be replaced.
