What Causes the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter To Pivot
Question:
After installing this 5th wheel hitch and torquing the bolts down to the proper torque, the hitch has rotated some on the bed. I torqued the set bolt to 60lbs and still rotating a little while . Any suggestions?

I spoke with Demco about the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # DM8550045 and they stated that one reason for the base pivoting on the hitch ball could potentially be an issue with the hitch ball height. According to Demco, the distance from the top of the bed to the top of the ball cannot exceed 5". I would also be careful of over-torqueing the bolt as you may be a bit off on your specs.
If you need a different height hitch ball please just let me know.
