Does Stealth Hitch for 2018 BMW X3 Allow Towing Trailer with Hitch Opening Accessory

Question:

Hi, I have a 2018 bmw x3 and I wanted to know if the stealth hitch can tow a boat using the receiver if I buy a separate tow hitch to in receiver? I don’t want to buy the tow hitch kit because I don’t know if the tow hitch that comes with it will be tall enough for my trailer.

Stealth has stated that the hitch opening attachment of the # SH62VR that fits your 2018 BMW X3 can only be used with accessories like bike racks and carriers and not with trailer towing. You'd have to use the included ball mount attachment which like you noticed does not have any height adjustment.

To be able to use a ball mount with varying rise/drops would require a different hitch like the Draw Tite part # 76226 which is not quite as hidden as the hitch opening does hang below rear bumper.
