Recommended Fuse Bypass Switch For Flat Towing A 2008 Honda CR-V

GM. I am preparing a 2008 CRV for flat towing. I would like to install a fuse bypass switch. Is a single or double fused switch required? Thank you,

Expert Reply:
You'll only need a single fuse bypass switch like the Curt Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicles # C93HR you were looking at. You'll want to pull the ACC Radio fuse, which is fuse # 34 and the location can be seen in the attached picture.
To flat tow your 2008 Honda CR-V you'll also need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, base plate, braking system, and safety cables. If you don't already have these items then I have the following recommendations for you below:
Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522. This tow bar has a non-binding design allows you to release your vehicle at any time, anywhere on even or unlevel ground and large hookup radius makes connecting a breeze at any angle, even if your vehicle isn't perfectly lined up with your RV.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154. This diode Kit allows you to use your Honda CR-V's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.
Note: For applications that have separate lighting like your Honda CR-V, this kit will cause your brake lights to function as both brake and turn lights. Wiring converter kit # 154-792-118158 can be purchased instead if you want to retain separate turn and brake signals.
Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521559-5. This direct-connect base plate has removable arms to provide a clean unobtrusive look when not in use.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking using the remote conveniently from your RV. The included charge line kit will keep your vehicle's battery charged while towing so you don't arrive at your destination with a dead battery.
Safety Cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000lbs # RM-643. The coiled design will help prevent the cables from dragging on the ground and being damaged.
