How to Determine if Trailer Wiring that Stopped Working is Due to Converter Box

Question:

I installed one of these kits and everything has worked fine up until recently. Now, I have no left trail right on the truck or trailer. Nothing has changed, no fuses blown, connections are tight. Any ideas?

It's not uncommon for a short in the trailer wiring to take out the converter boxes of our wiring harnesses which is most likely what happened. You can test this by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test for voltage on the input side of the box and then also the output. If it's on input but not output it's the converter and you'd have to replace the kit.
