How to Carry a Kayak on a 2009 Nissan Sentra

I have a 2009 Nissan Sentra and was wondering if the sportrack SR1002 roof rack is all I need to start carrying a kayak? Im confused with all the different options... My car is a bare roof.

To carry a kayak on the roof of your 2009 Nissan Sentra you would start with a roof rack like # SR1002. Then you would add a kayak carrier like # TH881. The saddles will protect the kayak from damage from the roof rack.

The less expensive option is to use a foam block set up like # RL100K10. You place the foam blocks on your bare roof then grab a buddy to set the kayak on them. Next use the include blue straps to go over the kayak, Open the doors on the vehicle and run the straps through the inside of the vehicle and tighten. Then use the hooks and rope to secure the bow and stern to the front and rear of the vehicle.

You would not need to add a roof rack at all with a foam block set up. Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual or a Nissan dealer to determine the weight carrying capacity of the roof and do not exceed it.
