Recommended Thule Square Bar Roof Rack For 2020 BMW X3 With Flush Rails

Question:

Any idea what has gone wrong? Second year using these bars on a SECOND BMW X3 2017 and now 2020 and the cross bars are not being held in place by any of the four feet. I can literally pull or push the bars all the way thru either side. Never saw this before. I dont see anything wrong with the feet or cross bars. So either there is a problem with the way I mounted them did NOT change that from last years usage, or all 4 feet have failed at the same time?

I doubt that all 4 of your older Thule feet happened to fail at the same time. Since the square bars that you previously used with these feet are not holding and you can slide them back and forth, you may have installed them incorrectly or just simply did not tighten the feet all the way. If you still cannot get them to fit then you will need to install a new roof rack as those older parts are not confirmed to fit for your vehicle.

For your 2020 BMW X3, Thule recommends going with Thule SquareBar Evo Crossbars 50" # TH712300, Feet # TH710601, and Fit Kit # TH186007. I attached a demonstration video for you.
