Wheel Bearings Too Small to Fit 1.06 Inch Diameter Spindle

Question:

I am trying to put a new hub and bearings kit on my trailer axle. It seems the shaft is bigger than the inside of the bearing. Shaft seems to be 1 inch and a sixteenth and the bearing is 1 inch. Is 1 1/16 a real size? Needless to say the bearing won’t easily slide on.

Looks like you have a straight spindle that's typically found on a 2K rated axle.

There are two bearing sizes that are really close, the L44649 has an inside diameter of 1.063 while the L44643 has an inside diameter of 1.00 inches, so I'm guessing you have the wrong bearings.

The good news is that your existing hubs use the same L44610 races regardless of which bearing set is needed, so you can simply replace your existing bearings with 4 of the # L44649 bearings, or if you want the bearing kit which includes the races, grease seal and a cotter pin, use # BK1-150.
