Replacement Step Motor For Lippert Coach Steps # 171317 On a 2011 Newmar Baystar.
Question:
I need a replacement motor for LCI 300-1406. New part number 301695 seems to be the answer. However, I am concerned with all the comments that recent buyers have about needing to drill out the holes to accommodate the original bolts. Is this still an issue? How hard is it to do, and can you outline procedure if necessary? 2011 Newmar Baystar with double coach step 171317 manufactured 3/18/11

I can tell you that the Replacement Motor # LC301695 is the correct replacement. It matches for both your current motor number that you have as well as the product number that you found on the Coach Steps of your 2011 Newmar Baystar.
For the reviews of the bolt holes not being correct I cannot guarantee the accuracy of if the motor is being installed on your same steps or if the issue was just a manufacturer defect. While we do check our product that comes in for damage from the manufacturer we cannot go through every single item to inspect for defects or holes that are out of spec.
If the motor you receive does not match the bolt holes that you have you can return it as it is considered defective or if you choose to drill out the holes as several others have you will want to find a drill bit slightly larger than your bolts and enlarge the holes for your steps.
