My 2016 4Runner is currently wired for your Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional Item # 39510 Is the adapter used in that installation the same as what Ill need for this controller? If not, which do I need?

By "currently wired" I do assume that means your 2016 Toyota 4Runner has the factory tow package, and the plug-in adapter is all that you will need to install the Liberty brake controller; the correct part numbers for the controller and adapter for your 4Runner are the following:
- Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR
- Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED49FR
