I attached a link to the instructions for the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 which covers troubleshooting. But you will want to click on menu/options and from there you click on Help and Troubleshoot. It will guide you through the process of tracking down the possible issues.
The "overload no brakes" warning you are getting means "excessive current overload condition during operation". This is most commonly associated with a short somewhere in the brake wiring in which case you will want to use a circuit tester like Hook Probe Circuit Tester # PTW2993 to track down the wiring issue. This issue could be anywhere from the brake controller wiring all the way to the trailer, so I recommend going through each wire carefully to see if any are pinched, corroded, or damaged in any way.
