Determining If Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution Hitch BLU36FR Works On Trailer W/ 4400lb GVWR

Question:

Im pulling a trailer specified at 4400 GVWR and a tongue weight of 370. Im considering the Blue Ox TrackPro BLU36FR but am wondering if it will make the ride excessively stiff or cause trailer bounce due to the spring design weight of 6000 lbs. Thansk for you guidance.

I would be happy to help!

First things first the 370lb tongue weight rating of your 4400lb trailer is the unloaded tongue weight, and not the tongue weight of the trailer loaded to the GVWR so you will need to confirm your actual tongue weight. The easiest way to do this is using a tongue weight scale like the etrailer # e99044 but there are other methods outlined in the included help article.

The Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU36FR you were looking at works with tongue weights between 200-600lbs so as long as long as you are inside of that range you will not have an overly stiff ride.

If you find you have a tongue weight rating outside of this range just let me know.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
