How To Prevent Tailgate From Hitting Jack On a Trailer While Lowered

Can you lower a pickup tailgate without the tailgate hitting the top of Jack?

In most cases, the tailgate will hit the jack on an a-frame trailer when lowered but there are many variables to this that are different for each truck or trailer. If you use an extended length ball mount like the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches part # D-28 or an extended length weight distribution shank if using a extended length weight distribution system like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4500, then you should be able to lower the tailgate without hitting the jack but you'll want to measure first to be sure. This will be the same for pretty much any a-frame trailer jack.
