How To Find Correct Electric Brakes for a Trailer
Question:
1. How do i know what replacement i need? I have an axle number. 2. Im told that there is no such thing as an electric self adjusting brakes, why are you selling them if they dont work? A Midas Mechanic told me this.

In order to find the correct replacement brakes for a trailer you'll need to know the axle capacity which is found on the center of the tag on the beam. The Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-7-SA for example is designed for 5,200 lb - 7,000 lbs axles. I have attached our complete selection as well. .
In regards to type, there are both manual adjust and self-adjust. The manual adjust require you to increase tension on the assemblies every so often to ensure proper pad wear whereas the self-adjust will do this for you.
