Question:

My new F350 is arriving in a couple of weeks. The hitch is 3-inch. Current trailer is ~14K with ~1400# of TW. Recommendations?

I have a solution for you, but there isn't weight distribution shank that fits in a 3 inch receiver directly, so you'll need to use a sleeve reducer like the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves - 3" to 2-1/2" or 2" # C45408 to reduce your 3" receiver down to a 2-1/2" receiver or even a 2" if necessary.

With that said, for your trailer with a 1400-lbs tongue weight and GVWR of 14,000-lbs I recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 16,000 lbs GTW, 1,600 lbs TW # EQ64FR. This system is designed for trailers with tongue weight up to 1600-lbs and comes with a 2-1/2" shank so you'll only need to use one of the reducer sleeves. This system uses 4 point sway control to help stop sway before it starts, so it's a great all-around solution for your larger trailer. You'll want to make sure the height of the trailer frame isn't larger than 8" in order to fit the brackets, and you may need a thin walled 1-7/8" socket like the # EQ70-00-4800 to install the hitch ball.

I've linked a review and installation video of this system for you to check out, as well.
