Is There a Yakima Roof Rack System for a 2021 Tesla Model S with a Glass Roof

Question:

Hi, do you have yakima towers that will clip onto the glass roof of the newest model S? it has a glass roof and supposedly you can slide a Jinch hook under 4 specific points on the glass roof just like the Model 3 roofs. I already have yakima jetstream cross bars, just need the clips and towers to fit. thanks!

I may have a solution for you, but I was able to confirm with my contact over at Yakima that there's not yet a Yakima tower available that can safely be used on your 2021 Tesla Model S with the glass roof.

With that said, there is a Thule roof rack kit that has been confirmed that can be used on the glass roof, but you wouldn't be able to use your existing Yakima bars with Thule towers. If you wanted to go with the Thule roof rack system, that system uses parts # TH711420, # TH460R and # THKIT3153 and would give you a nice and durable rack for your Model S.

You might be able to sell your existing Yakima parts to offset some of the costs if you're not wanting to wait, but Thule currently has the only available solution for the glass roof.
