Making the Underhood Connections on a 2004 Chevy Silverado to Install a Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
Hooking up a electric brake controler to the fuse box. Found the red and blue wires. Attached the red wire to power terminal. Where does the fuse go and what does the bblue wire do

Expert Reply:
After locating the Blue and Red Wires under the hood on your 2004 Chevy Silverado, place the Red Wire over the closest positive post. A Green 30 amp Fuse is needed in the location nearest the positive post to power the brake controller.
The Blue wire is out put to the trailer brakes. Since it terminates under the hood, you will need to run wire from this blue wire all the way back to the 7-Way and attach it to the back of the 7-Way in the 7:00 position. You can use wire # 10-1-1 sold in 1 foot increments. Be sure to avoid hot and moving parts that could damage the wire.
