2015 Ram ITBM F87 Fuse Blowing Troubleshooting

Question:

My 2015 Ram Tradesman blows the F87 ITBM fuse as soon as you depress the brakes. I do not know if it will blow if the trailer is not plugged in. I had a trailer diagnostic tool for integrated brakes plugged in and only had one fuse.

I did a little bit of digging on the F87 ITBM blowing on your 2015 Ram Tradesman and mostly it looks like the issue is related to the wiring to the 7-way connector. There is a short on the 7-way wiring most likely either right behind the 7-way or the pins of the connector are dirty.

If the 7-way has seen better days one solution would be to replace it with the part # C55774 which also comes with a 4-way attached to it.
