Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch For A 2019 Shasta Phoenix With A Lippert Turning Point Pin Box

I currently have a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 6-1/2’ bed. I currently have the bandw turnoverball gooseneck hitch in the bed. We just bought a 2019 Shasta Phoniex 5th wheel that has a lippert turning point pin box. Can I buy the bandw companion that s into my Gooseneck turnover hitch and lock the pin box out and tow it that way. Or what do you recommend I should do. From what I understand the lippert turning point pin box can not be converted to a Reese or gen y gooseneck pin box.

You're correct that you'll need to get a fifth wheel hitch since the Lippert Turning point currently has no compatible replacements. For your 2017 Ram 2500 with 6-1/2' bed I recommend the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Dual Jaw - 20,000lbs # BWRVK3400-5W. It will slide right into your B&W gooseneck hitch and has a slider to help eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns since you don't have an 8' bed. B&W Companion hitches are not compatible with rotating pin boxes and neither are sliding hitches so you will need to lock out your Turning Point pin box. There are two bolt holes in the back of the pin box that you will need to place bolts in to lock out the pin box for use as a standard pin box. I've attached a drawing of the pin box where you can see the bolt hole locations.
