Sway Control Options That Do Not Require You To Remove Anything Before Maneuvering The Trailer
Question:
Is there a sway control bar that you can back up with without having to unhook it?

All Sway Control Bars # 83660 need to be removed before maneuvering your trailer. If you are only backing up in a straight line to gain turning clearance you do not need to remove the sway bar. I recommend removing the sway bar once you get off the highway as I have seen these sway bars bend on curvy roads as well.
You can use a weight distribution system like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET that will build the sway control into the weight distribution bars so that there are no parts to remove when you need to maneuver your trailer.
If you do not want to use a weight distribution system you can also use the Tuson Electronic Sway Control System # 335TSC-1000 on a trailer with electric brakes. This works by applying the brakes to your trailer to counteract the trailer sway. This is by far the easiest sway control as once it is installed it is always on without any additional parts to connect to your trailer.
